6 Budget Beauty Products You’ve Got to Pack this Holiday Season

Going home for Christmas is wonderful isn’t it? The promise of catching up with old friends, family, lots of good food and the opportunity to truly relax. What is tricky, is deciding what skin and hair care items to pack, in order to cater to both the harsh elements and undoubtedly a small overnight bag. When you are grappling with numerous gifts, clothing and various parcels of food, something has to give but with a few clever choices, your hair and skin needn’t be neglected in the coming days.

Lately my scalp has been beyond dry and as such, truthfully difficult to wash. I have found that by switching to Garnier Ultimate Blends Sensitive Scalp Shampoo and Conditioner that the problem is slowly but surely passing with each use. The great thing about this range is that it has been developed to soothe and comfort an irritated scalp, all the while nourishing and protecting the hair. With the current cold snap, even if your scalp isn’t easily aggravated the Garnier Sensitive Scalp range (which does also include a deeply conditioning hair mask for a weekly deep treatment) is a great choice as it is so gentle, light yet enriching, affordable and pretty much suited to most hair types.

Skincare is my downfall, it doesn’t matter if I only plan to leave home overnight or for a few weeks, I nearly always over pack. If that sounds a little all too familiar, then I have a few skin and space saving solutions.
Why pack a separate day and night cream, when you can enjoy the Garnier 3-in-1 Botanical Balm Soothing Moisturiser. Not only does this luxurious cream deeply hydrate, soothe and firm the skin with the addition of delicate rose water but it also doubles up as a nourishing mask – less truly is more. At the moment, I’ve been using the Garnier 3-in-1 Botanical Balm Soothing Moisturiser as a sleep treatment of sorts; I apply a fine layer before going bed, allow it to fully absorb, whilst I catch up on my beauty sleep and awaken to soft, bouncy skin without a dry patch in sight.

Another great multi-tasker is the Garnier 3-in-1 Charcoal Anti Blackhead Solution, which manages to be a wash, scrub and mask all in one, and in my humble opinion an anti-blemish treatment too. With the season of over indulgence well on the way, I know my skin is bound to act up due to the sudden influx of sugar in my system, this nifty product will not only deeply cleanse and exfoliate the skin but as it is charcoal based, it will help fight blemishes too. Every travel bag and bathroom needs a bottle of Garnier 3-in-1 Charcoal Anti Blackhead Solution on standby and not just for the holiday season.

So maybe you have your skin and hair care ready for a few days away and don’t feel like you need to pack anything else? In that case I both applaud you and also suggest throwing at least one Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask in your bag. After you’ve overindulged in carbs, and found yourself a comfy place to nap on the sofa, the refreshing and instantly hydrating mask will be the perfect addition to any TV – and/or biscuit – binge and as you have to at least sit down to use it, you have the perfect excuse to avoid the dishes in the sink. The great thing about the Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Masks is that there is an option for every skin type: they are cheap, cheerful and really do hydrate, calm and soothe the skin in an instant. If you are feeling super generous, perhaps take along a few extra and show your family what they have been missing out on – in my mind, they also make wonderful stocking stuffers or last minute gifts.

Now all that is left  to do is play a festive game of packing Jenga to ensure you get everything home and hope that the trains are running on time. Good luck.
