Track Palin, the son of former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, was arrested on burglary and assault charges in Alaska on Saturday, December 16, according to multiple reports.

The 28-year-old Army veteran was arraigned Sunday morning after his arrest on charges of felony burglary, assault in the fourth degree and criminal mischief for causing property damage of between $250 and $999, NBC News reports. The charges are related to domestic violence.

Track was picked up by police in Wasilla, the town where his mother served as mayor.

John Tiemessen, a lawyer for the Palin family, declined to comment on the arrest, saying in a statement to the New York Daily News, “Given the nature of actions addressed last night by law enforcement and the charges involved, the Palins are unable to comment further. They ask that the family’s privacy is respected during this challenging situation just as others dealing with a struggling family member would also request.”

Track was previously charged with domestic violence in January 2016 after his girlfriend, who was found hiding under a bed and crying, told police she was punched in the face by the oldest child of the former governor of Alaska.

Charges of assault and interfering with a police report were dismissed but Track pleaded guilty to brandishing a weapon (court documents alleged that at one point Track, who was intoxicated, held an AR-15 assault rifle near his head).

Track enlisted in the army in 2007 and spent a year deployed in Iraq. Palin claimed in a January 2016 speech in support of then-presidential nominee Donald Trump that her son’s arrest stemmed from post-traumatic stress disorder due to his military service. She went on to blame President Obama for not doing enough for troubled veterans.

He and other members of his family, including sisters Willow and Bristol, were also involved in a brawl that broke out at a party in Anchorage in September 2014 but no arrests were made, although a police report was filed. According to the police report, Track was heavily intoxicated and had blood around his mouth and on his hands.
