CHRISTMAS WITH CHANEL
The other week I was lucky to receive a beautiful parcel in the mail from the wonderful beauty team at Chanel *squeals!*. I’m SUCH a Chanel fangirl, so everytime they send me something, no matter how big or small, I always get SO excited! There’s something about wearing something ‘Chanel’ (even if it’s just a slick of red polish on my nails or a sweep of bronzer on my face) that makes me feel so special and so glam, anyone else feel that too?
Chanel were kind enough to send me some goodies from the stunning new 2017 ‘Numéros Rouges’ collection which launched at the beginning of the month and includes 4 reinvented lipsticks in a red lacquered tube. I was also lucky to receive a handful of gorgeous, limited edition makeup goodies which I’m super duper excited to try! A lot of the go-to products in my makeup collection are Chanel staples that I’ve been using for YEARS, so I’m always over the moon to try some of their brand new stuff.
The product that I’m probably the most excited about is this limited edition ‘Trait De Caractère’ eyeshadow palette…how STUNNING! Although I don’t tend to stray far from my everyday nude shadows, the deep purple shade and the gorgeous shimmering green are soooo super beautiful that I kinda feel like stepping out of my comfort zone and trying something different. I have a couple of the Chanel Les 4 Ombres palettes in my makeup drawer and they also make me want to go a little crazy and try some different colours. I feel like Chanel are amazing at making some of the more ‘daring’ shades feel more wearable and less daunting (probably because they’re just so beautiful!) This palette is going to be my go-to for festive events this season for sure!
Sticking with the green theme, Chanel also sent me one of their waterproof long-lasting eyeliners in the shade ‘Legendary Green’ which I’m obsessed with. Lately I’ve been really enjoying creating a super soft wing with something like a kohl pencil so I’m super excited to try and achieve something similar with this beautiful green eyeliner. I would probably wear this with one of the shades of the ‘Ombre Premiere’ eyeshadows for a sultry look (this one in the pic is the shade ‘Silver Screen’!) Love this combo!
It wouldn’t be a Chanel post if I didn’t take a minute to mention my favourite Le Vernis nail polishes, right!? I tend to get gel on my nails quite a lot (it’s one of my favourite self-care things to do!) but whenever I don’t have time to book myself an appointment I’ll usually reach for one of the beautiful Chanel Le Vernis polishes instead. They’re SUPER glossy, wonderfully long-wearing and always come in the most beautiful colours. This time I was sent a vibrant neon colour in the shade ‘Scenario’ alongside an almost-black colour in the shade ‘Celebrity’. I don’t tend to wear black on my nails but I feel like this one could look super glam. What do you think?
Onto the stars of the show now…the lipsticks! There are 4 lipstick shades within this new collection and I was super excited to be able to get my hands on 3 of them! I was sent ‘No 1′ which is a classic red, ‘No 2′ a raspberry red, and ‘No 4′ (my favourite) an orange-toned red. You’ve probably noticed by now that I don’t tend to wear red on my lips all that often but these Chanel lipsticks are definitely an exception to that rule! It doesn’t get much more ‘glam’ than a classic red Chanel lip, right?
You might have heard me talk about the Chanel Rouge Coco Glosses on my blog before (I’m obsessed with the shade Douceur) so when I saw a new colour staring back at me from the box I got waaaay too excited. Chanel were kind enough to send me the limited edition shade ‘Romance’ which is absolutely gorgeous. It’s slightly darker than the kind of shade I’d usually reach for, but if there was ever a time to rock a vampy lip the season is now! If you’re not a gloss convert just yet, never fear! The Rouge Coco glosses feel completely comfortable on the lips and they’re actually quite moisturising. I’ll definitely be popping this baby in my handbag next time someone invites me to a Christmas party! Loving this shade.
